Job Location:

  • The Loft at Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide culturally competent, trauma-informed therapeutic services to students and families.
  • Offer crisis intervention and collaborate with school staff and other providers.
  • Participate in community meetings, team meetings, and quality improvement committees.
  • Manage counseling referrals, provide individual and evidence based group therapy, and plan support groups and prevention programming.
  • Utilize the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale for screening.
  • Supervise after-school activities and support summer programs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services in electronic medical records. 
  • Demonstrate a Team mentality by taking a multidisciplinary approach to providing quality services to adolescent students. 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or equivalent field.
  • Certification: LAC/LSW, LPC/LCSW, or state licensure specific to degree.
  • Experience: Providing mental health services in diverse, urban settings. Preferred experience with adolescents in a high school environment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to or in excess of 50 pounds.
